The Binn EcoPark

A living lab for clean growth development.

The Binn EcoPark provides a development space in Tayside, Scotland, with its own micro-grid renewable energy system encompassing wind, solar and biogas power.

Clean power. Clean growth. Circular economy.

Affordable clean power is the backbone of the EcoPark.

Affordable, clean power is one of the most underrated competitive advantages in the world. That is why it sits at the heart of the Binn EcoPark vision.

With nearly 200 acres of development space under master planning and a central location in Scotland, the site is positioned as one of the main clean growth catalysts in Tayside.

We have created a visionary place for new smart growth business.

Development Themes

Built around deeper resource, recycling and clean technology solutions.

Working alongside Binn Group, one of Scotland's leading resource management firms, the site is orientated towards deeper resource and recycling solutions that support the circular economy transition.

As an agricultural estate, food security and controlled environment agriculture are also key development themes, supported by academic and R&D links across Scotland.

Circular Economy

Resource recovery, advanced recycling, re-use platforms and low-carbon material solutions.

Food Security

Controlled environment agriculture, vertical growing, orchards, insect protein and second generation bio-fuels.

Clean Technology

Technology proving and testing, sensors, water conservation and new resource recovery technologies.

Skills and Education

Clean growth skills delivery, education and innovation linked to emerging low-carbon industries.

Research and Development

An ideal location for emergent clean technology businesses.

With strong academic and R&D links to the James Hutton Institute, St Andrews, Dundee and Abertay Universities and the University of the Highlands and Islands, the EcoPark is well placed to support clean growth innovation.

Water Conservation

Systems and technologies that respond to increasing water shortages and the need for resilient infrastructure.

Biodiversity Protection

Projects that support biodiversity, regenerative land use and responsible environmental development.

Low Carbon Economy

Demonstrating and supporting low carbon regenerative economies that take climate change seriously.

Supporting Projects

Connecting the low carbon economy in Tayside.

The Clean Growth Axis Perth and Kinross was launched in May 2026 to support and accelerate clean growth project development.

As part of the Invest in Perth inward investment platform, it provides integrated support from a range of public sector support bodies to aid project developers in the delivery of their projects.

The Binn EcoPark forms part of a highly integrated framework of clean growth development themes and delivery organisations in Tayside. As one of the key catalyst sites in the region, the EcoPark forms a core part of what is a regional demonstrator for regenerative low carbon economic transitioning.
